Welcome to Chroma Nomad

I use my superpower of synesthesia to document my travels and capture unique stories from people I meet in my daily life.

Synesthesia is a unique neurological trait where one or more senses is interpreted and presented as another unrelated sense. People who have this trait
are called “synesthetes.” For example, some synesthetes may taste words (i.e. the word pencil can taste like chocolate), some people can physically feel music on their bodies (i.e. guitar strings tinkles one’s neck), or some people see letters and numbers as having colors and personalities.

In my case, all my senses are interconnected as colors. Everything I hear, taste, smell, touch, emotionally feel, etc. I perceive it as having a color in my mind’s eye. One of my most impactful senses in my daily life is being able to interpret sound as color. This allows me to perceive peoples’ voices as colors. Over the years throughout my travels, I have painted the voices of fellow travelers I have met and locals I connected with. Through this experience, I learned a lot about people’s meaningful moments in their lives and painted their unique colorful voices. Here are some of the people I met, lessons I learned, and fun facts about synesthesia.
